I finished the job of replacing my rear hub bearings (and oil seal) last night. I discovered the "Anti Lock" was on this morning.
Here's some background info.
A week ago - discovered grinding noise coming from driver's side rear wheel. Noise was intermittent.
- inspected rear brakes and the need replacement.
- replaced both rear brake pads
No "anti lock" light for several days after brake pad install.
Two days ago - grinding noise gets louder and more pronounced when vehicle is turning. Decide only thing left is to tackle replacing bearings.
- jack truck, remove wheel, remove caliper, remove axle rod.
- dissasembled bearings, clean all surrounding parts/components, reassemble.
- problems getting hub on correctly and tight; after several frustrating hours, problem is now resolved and I am confident hub bearings are installed correctly
- reinstall caliper, bleed brakes
This morning light is on after several start and stops of the truck. I searched past threads for any clues but am not satisfied. My guess is the sensor is needs to be adjusted or reset somehow.
You all have any clues?
