Antifreeze out of the vents?

Help! As I was dropping the kids at daycare and noticed that their was an antifreeze smell in the cabin. I noticed it was coming out of the vents (I closed them and opened the windows). Upon arriving at home I checked under the bonnet and my coolant level was very low. I then opened the cap very slowly and the level raised. The temp was just a slight above normal and I have been adding a bit of oil every couple weeks. I don?t have any drips. I do have a whine sound the comes from the dash area when the gas peddle is under load (local LR/jag guy said it was the transfer case). It is a `04 D2 with 53K, what do you think it could be? I was trying to get to the Pismo LR event this weekend, does this sound like a quick fix I can do?

Thank you for any input:(

I just checke the carpet, it is soaked from front to rear, is it hard to get out? The DLR is two hours away, will the truck make it? Coolant level is gone.

Thx,

Just top the coolant off now ... It is not going to leak that fast.... Just ride with windows down and do not turn the heater or A/C on

Sweat up something like this in 1/2" copper and clamp it onto the hoses, bypassing the core.

Yes take the two heater hoses off from the firewall where they enter the cabin from under the hood. Connect them together like the post above to create a runaround bypassing the heater core.

Good luck,

Mike
