Hey-

Thinking about getting a 03' or newer RR...... but I want to set it up nicely for offroad. I'd love to see some pics of kitted out RR's. Of course any opinions as well.

Thanks,
Dave

Use the search feature, this has been discussed several times... There is some pics in the trails/events tab too. I believe they are under one of the windrock trips...

Dave,

If you want a new RR done up right youre going to need to find a good custom fab shop.

Good luck on that. Not the best platform for it IMO.

A saw a friend put a pretty killer custom skid plate setup on a 06 RR. Pretty cool. I wish I took some pics. This guys complaint was that mods were not all that available.

You really should go for it. You can make an MKIII into a WAY better wheeler than any D1 or D2, that is, if you can handle the bill.

yeah, exactly. Could cost some serious $$ if done right. We'll see what I find at the next auction..... hopefully a nice 05-06 for short $$!

Or...save all that money by getting a POS RRC and modding it into more of a 'trail killer' than the Mk.III you just spent 25k on used to begin with. RR do not scream trail rig, they are too nice, they do say 'hey off-road me' but I do not think I would like a cut up, trimmed, dented, 35" tire clad Mk.III personally.

I was gonna say something about that being a pretty expensive platform, but then I remembered -- people take their NAS 110's out in the boonies...

Personally, I couldn't stomach banging up a rig that would cost more than a paycheck to replace, but then, I don't know how big your paychecks are! ;)

$25 is a little high..... last weeks auction results. A year older, but reasonable.

LAND ROVER 2004 RANGE ROVER 4WD HARDTOP SUV Silver 4doors 77kmiles $19700

This is kind of the point. I don't want it to scream "trail rig".

can you define "fully kitted out" because if you think 25k is to much to start with you might not be able to handle the price of modifying this truck.

I was referring to the price of a used RR..... and 25k being high. If I can get one for $5-6K less, I would obviously prefer to do that. The money could be spent on better things. I was not referring to my personal budget.

Fully kitted out could be defined in several ways. I'm "thinking" wheels, tires, winch, bumper, skid plates, rack, lights, etc... I guess a lot will depend on available accessories.
