Any ideas - Toll for Ribbed Flange?

Anyone have any ideas where I can get a tool to put a ribbed flange in a pipe from? I did a pretty healthy search but couldn't find a damn thing. Harbor freight of course has a flanging tool for brake lines - but the pipe I want to put the rib in is approx 3/4" O.D.

The aluminum heater pipe on a discovery.

TIA

i think what you are refering to is called a "bead". was this for your heater core job? did u find a way to do it with out beading the tube. here is what u are looking for.

that is the whole kit. this one jsut does 3/4 and one inch http://www.aircraft-tool.com/shop/d...ReturnPage=/shop/search_result.aspx?PageNo=12

however i dont know if that tool would fit down in a hole where u are trying to work under the dash.

Thanks David - that's exactly what I was looking for :) doesn't look as though it would fit though. Yep it's for the heater core - I'm now thinking of trying it without the beads on the heater tubes and being very careful not to over-tighten - looks as though the tube wall thickness should just about take the pressure of a hose clamp. The only other thought I've had is to have the cut pipes modified to take a female end of a screw on high pressure hose and run these straight through the bulkhead.

Still lots to do before the design is right.

yeah those dont work very well down in a hole. i dont think you would need high pressure stuff. low or med pressure spec stuff should be just fine. the cooling system shouldnt have more than 13-15 psi on it. so double that to 30 psi for saftey and its still in the "low" pressure catergory.
