any information on filter for air/heat

right below the passenger side windshield is an opening around the cowl area under hood, that takes in air for the heater etc. is a filter suppose to be over that? mine is just open and leaves get in. if someone has a picture or part number? 03 disco ty

That's supposed to be open, but there should be a strip of filter material behind the grate of the cowl:

3 screws and the blower wheel easily comes out to clean!

Cleaned mine because it was noisy and found leaves. Blows better now too!

Is this for a D2 (year?) or for a D1? Has anyone adapted a filter to the D1 inlet? Curious!
