probably not...I am 5'11" and I fit, but it is tigtht. And forget about rear seat leg room....

I'm 6'1" and I fit fine. Plenty of room. My dad (6'6") also fits comfortably. Now the back seat is another story. But there isn't much room in the rear of any car with the both of us up front. Other than a XJ LWB. :)

They had alot of tran.ny issues up to '03. Especially with the 3.0. In '04 and up they use a beefier trans. Not to say there are no issues, just a lot fewer compared to previous years.

My dad's 96 XJ has been fabulous...just that radio issue.....why do you think they are shit?!

What radio issue would that be? Is this the one where the radio keeps draining the battery even when it (and the ignition) are off?

If you are trying to quote me...you put words in my mouth. I never said it was shit...it's a great car. And the problem with his radio has nothing to do with the battery. Ever have something go wrong with your Rover? Do you automatically say it's a shitty vehicle then?!

Roverjoe, I like Volvos but not enough to pay the price on them...and they are everwhere. Too plain and soccer-mom-ish for me!

NVRover, I think the S-type does look a lot like a Taurus. The X does in the rear, although not as bad as I thought when I actually see them on the road. The new 05 X-type has been improved.

Hey RoverLady

Hey RoverLady. Please take a moment and re-read my message.

My attempt was not to put words into your mouth. At no point in my post was my intent to bash Jaguars. I happen to think they're great cars and wouldn't mind owning one or six myself.

My intent was to obtain more details about your vague reference to a 'radio issue' and offere a possible guess (one that a friend of mine encountered with his XJ-S radio).

Roverlady, please take my post as it was intended -- a request for further information. Flaming does not become you. :)

The X-Type is just a reskinned Ford Contour. As the owner of a 2000 Contour SVT, I can say that our car is great. The 2.5 is fun with just enough power. I was looking into the X-Type, but decided on a Discovery. I think they have worked out all the bugs.

Sounds like my neighbor... When I brought home new IS300 last summer, she goes: "Why would you buy a masked Toyota Corrola with a Lexus badge"??? The two cars have nothing in common.
