Anybody know anything about Yamaha Viragos?

I'm looking at a 1997 Yamaha Virago 1100. Mustang saddle, sissy bar with luggage rack, leather hard cases, forward controls, highway bar, recent paint. 27k Arizona miles on it. Does anybody have any experience with either this or a similar motorcycle? I'm a first-time rider, and I want something that will handle the back-and-forth of driving to work (30 miles hwy) but will still be alright for cruising around town with my wife in tow.

Great bike. I assume you have ridden bikes before. Get a motorcycle safety course under your belt and your insurance will benefit.

Rubber side down, shiny side up.

An 1100 is a big bike. Do easy rides around the neighborhood until you get used to it.

Nah, I got a Vulcan, but I have riden viragos before, great bike...I just have a thing for Liquid cooling!

Yeah, I'm going to sign up for the safety course they offer at the local university here on Monday. I've ridden a handful of times, but that's it. I'm getting excited about picking this thing up.
