Thinking about buying some 4.11 gears from the UK but have heard nothing about them. Anyone have any pros/cons?

Thanks

If you don't find any info on UK gears try talking to Bill at Great Basin Rovers in Utah, that is where I bought mine. What ever way you go you will love them, got all my power back from adding the 265/75/16's to my truck, throw in some lockers and HD axles and go crazy.

They are fine, at 70 MPH I am at 2750 RPM's running 265 tires. The power curve is better, less down shifting on long hard pulls.

Has anyone run anything between stock and 4.11's? Just curious as to any other options that are out there?

I dont want to hijack this thread but i am still a little confused and in the dark about the 4.11 gears in general. When do you need them and how do you know. Also what do they do. Again i dont mean to steal this thread but a brief description would be great. Thanks

A higher number (low gearing) makes your engine rev. higher for a given speed. So, if you install bigger tires which makes your engine rev. slower for a given speed, you can compensate with a lower gear ratio. That puts your engine back in the 'happy' range so it's not bogging down under acceleration (in theory ;) )

I contacted Ashcroft about the 4.11 gears and it isn't worth the shipping or the hassle. The shipping alone is about $179.00 for one set. Just get them from GBR ...they are the same gears KAM.
