Why were you striping the paint off if you are going to have it sand blasted?
Hi M3, typically yes, you can just media blast the parts. But, It's better to strip first, then media blast to remove rust. If the part was powder coated the sandblaster will remove most of the paint/rust. We have an industrial media blaster and it will not remove all the PC paint. There's always a stubborn area that won't give way.

Kevin... Have you looked into KBS Coating? Several club members have used it on their truck and it works like a charm. As easy as 1...2...3...

EDIT: Their paint is called RustSeal

Thanks!

I had it sandblasted and powdercoated. I kept the skidplate and did it myself the next day. well, i realized that I used the aircraft stripper wrong on the bumper and that is why it was taking so long. Basically, you have go slow (with the aerosol can) and let it bubble up, then it scrapes off very easily. Im going to do this with the rear bumper because i know how to do it. Also, the duplicolor bed coating is great, but do not use primer with it.

Getting it sandblasted was the right choice, because underneath the paint that I did strip was lots of areas of surface rust that I did not want to deal with, even with sanpaper and wire wheels. They threw in powdercoating and made it relatively cheap. Im going to pick up sometime today or tomorrow.

I understand the powdercoating might not match the skidplate, but I dont care. Its a damn offroad truck.

The paint stripper should do this (not real time):
