This is for a 2010 LR4 but there is not much traffic on the LR3 forum...

All I can find is this much - looking for the repair procedure if anyone has access to AllData:

Make : LAND ROVER Model : LR4 Year : 2010
Manufacturer : LAND ROVER
Service Bulletin Number : TB-3409-3B Date of Bulletin : JUL 31, 2010
NHTSA Item Number : 10034524
Component : STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD
Summary :
LAND ROVER: A POTENTIAL CONCERN HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED ON A NUMBER OF MODEL VEHICLES. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THERE IS INADEQUATE SEALANT AT THE LEFT HAND (LH) AND RIGHT HAND (RH) A POST COWL AREA, WHICH COULD RESULT IN WATER INGRESS INTO THE FOOTWELL. *PE

Yeah I got water in the passenger floor after a heavy rain...trying to figure out exactly what the fix is and how much stuff they need to take apart - I think I am still under warranty to have it fixed - just want to know what the fix is all about before I take it in.

IN other words is the cure worse than the disease - I don't want them ripping out the dash of my new LR4 to fix a leak that might occur every once in awhile.

If it is easy - then no problem. Just wanted more of a description and the actual fix and how long it takes.

Again sorry I know this is more of a Disco forum but no other LR4 boards have the info and thought someone might have a subscription to alldata for the full report of the TSB

Some of the LR3 might have had this issue also - just can't find any documentation on it.

well first off it is covered under warranty for sure so you should take it to your selling dealer. But that being said if your getting water on the floor that you can see then the first thing I always do is pull the cabin filter out to see if its wet. If it is then a real good possibility is that the cowl cover is not fitting tightly against the windshield and water coming down the windshield gets into the cabin via the heater box. when the a pillar trim or sunroof drains leak, the water usually sneaks under the carpet behind the kickpanels. As I remember the document your asking about says you can see the seam in question by opening the front door and looking at the area below the a pillar where it meets the bulkhead, the seam in question is visable and the fix was just to fill that seam w body seam sealer. the seam runs straight up and down. and is only about 6 inches long. I'm just going by memory and its not uncommon for land rover to pull a document away from us for whatever reason and pretend it never existed. Good luck and if I can be any help just post here or pm me whatever you need.

I looked up that bulletin and it really isnt anything to worry about them having a hard time doing. All they have to do is pop your hood and look at the bottom of the exterior a-pillar molding and make sure it is sealing well, if it isnt then they reseal that. If you go into your dealership as a waiter id be surprised if you were there an hour. If you are getting water into the cabin then X2 on checking the pollen filter which is behind the glove box, but also take it in and let the dealership take a look. I have seen many trucks that more water than the owner realizes gets inside and it starts messing with electrical stuff, then you have issues. sometimes the sunroof drains get clogged or a little kinked and water comes in that way as well. Good luck

If you have that much water on your floor then it will have to be checked for water under the carpet. If theres water under there with your body harness its going to need to be dried and cleaned up a little bit. Sometimes you can get them dry in a day, sometimes as long as a few days. If someone tells you they can fix this truck in one hour asssure him your coming back when this thing smells like shit.

your best bet is to take it in and tell them that the foot wells are puddling after it rains/car wash. DON'T bring up a TSB or anything like that.
