Anyone know of a Rover club in Southeast Idaho?

I see a few Rovers around Idaho Falls, but mostly LR3s and newer DIIs. Just wondering if anyone knows of a Rover club in the area. I am afraid most of the owners are just looking for a status symbol. I drive my Series all over town and most of the other Rover drivers don't even give it a look. Most people don't seem to know what my Range Rover is either. There are a couple other RRCs here in Idaho Falls, but it's mostly just newer stuff. I am mainly looking for a club for parts swapping and that sort of thing, and maybe a couple trail rides and get togethers each year. Seems the true enthusiasts always have a few parts lurking about they are willing to barter with...

We don't even have a club in Boise and frankly I'm cool with that. I've been in (and out) of too many hobby clubs because of egos and politics.

I've met some great folks in Idaho because of rovers though. I work in IF from time to time and am planning on being over there in January. Maybe we can get together and BS about rover stuff. Likewise if you ever get to this side - I know a couple people who'll get together to talk rover any day of the week.

I have kind of wondered if egos might get in the way of a good club. I am pretty laid back and don't a bunch of high blood pressure bench racers making everything a competition. I was really just looking for a way to swap parts, maybe a few trail runs, and an occasional get together. There's not many old Rovers in this part of the country... I am really envious of all the parts I see available in the New England area and even California. I know Cali isn't that far away but with the price of gas it makes it expensive. I have bought some stuff out of Oregon, and by the time I drove to Portland and back it was a pretty spendy trip... I suppose for now I'll stick with the board. Thanks for the replies.

I have two, so that makes four:D There's actually a series III just up the road from me, but he never drives it. It just sits in his back yard with a tarp on it... I have considered going to see if he wants to sell it, but last time I talked to him he seemed pretty attached to it. There are actually quite a few Discoverys around town, but they all look to be mall crawlers. I think we get Jackson Hole's used up stuff. There's probably a rover club over in Jackson, but my bank account balance probably isn't big enough to hang with those guys. I have seen one Defender 90, it appears to belong to the guy that takes care of the shipping and logistics for the Idaho National Laboratory (i.e. lucrative government contract...). I have yet to see another Series driving around. Most people that see mine call it a jeep or a land cruiser, I also get a lot of "what is that???". It's likely there's not even enough interest to start a club here.

Yeah just passing through on the way to SLC for a weekend of skiing. Maybe we can get together for an Elmore trail ride some time. Lots of good places to check out down there. And there's a certain TDI D1 in this thread that needs a little mud on it.

Handful of parts places down here in SLC. Good number of D1's and 2's in the yards around here too. Great Basin is here and has a group page up on Google, don't think there's any get togethers until spring though.

I thought the PCRC reached out to Boise. Granted its a long drive to where most the action is out here towards the coast, but I personally know plenty of rover guys in Boise. Maybe its time for someone to start an Idaho club.
