Howdy defender folks!
I was wondering what $10k would buy in the defender world here in the US (NAS or not). Are we talking "a unique fixer-upper investment oppurtunity" (i.e. no drivetrain), a rusty bucket, or possibly an ugly driver with cosmetic problems. They are probably all out of my range, but I thought I'd check. Thanks

I think you could get the front axle, 3 wheels, 2 tires and maybe the license plate holder.

Just as I thought, but worth a shot anyway. :( I'll be looking for a RRC, P38, or a Disco. Thanks

You could always hold out until 2008 when the first of the Land Rover 110s are legal for import. I don't have any idea what they will cost, but they should be cheaper than NAS Defenders. When the 1984 model year is legal, the 90" is available. I'm holding out for this before I buy a Defender.

By the way, search for Defenders on Ebay UK, that'll make you sick.

Advertisement to SELL; Product: 1970 SERIES IIA ; Price: 7,500.00; (Currency: US Dollars);
1970 Series IIA modified NEW PRICE
Right hand drive, Galvanized chassis, coil springs, 2.5l early Defender engine, Fairey overdrive, Ramsey 8000# winch, Custom interior roll bar, Rocky Mountain aluminum door tops, Webber 32/34 carb., electronic ignition, new coil, new starter motor, new steering relay, front disc brakes, rear drums, tan soft top, Zebra paint scheme, rear bench seats, JBL marine grade CD player, 16'' wheels with Maxis Mudders. This vehicle is mechanically sound and is a daily driver. The interior seats could use recovering. It just hasn't been a priority. The exterior is in good shape overall. The wings have been repaired, but they look fine. This is a great looking and driving rover. Incredible offroad ability. EMail for pictures or if you have any questions. grendel@carolina.rr.com

I must say, the series is right when looking under 10K. Easy to fix, and a great trail truck (with a good winch). Kevin proved this last weekend with us.

Dave was my winch monkey.

I really believe that if I was chained too I would have followed you every step. Especially after seeing Carl walk that 1st hill.

I think I can save the OD so that money may go to a Truetrac in a bucket from GBR, then we'll be in business. New springs from JP at Romp too.

still waiting on Ron...

That D-88 does sound pretty nice, I know I have access to good RRC parts but I'm not sure I have the patience for that kind of project.

Im in MA about 2 hours from you.
Yes I am teasing you , the AC doesnt work : )

But I would sell the truck for $16, 500.
I'm looking for a 1997 cause I want an auto trans.
I also have a lifted disco that Im selling.
If I dont sell the disco then Ill take the engine trans and transfer case and put them in the Defender.

If you are interested in a series truck i know of one that will work 1969 Series IIA* 2.25 Diesel $7000 .
