Roverheads:

I'll be rolling out to AOP this Sunday, Aug 27. Let me know if anyone's in. Details below copypasta from my last thread:

I would like to run a few trails at Adventure Off-Road Park in South Pittsburgh TN this Sunday. I don't like to run those trails solo, so please chime in or PM if interested.

A bit of info about AOP: Private park with general admission most weekends unless there's a buggy event. I think it's $15 / day. The trails are connected by fire roads (marked as green trails), most of which are easily driveable for any 4x4. There are a few that would be fun in a stockish Rover including one or two fairly steep but short hill climb/descents that are challenging in wet conditions. However, most of the blue "intermediate" or "moderate" trails can be extremely challenging, even when dry: be prepared for body damage. (The black "difficult" trails are buggy only.) Great day out for those who like to crawl but also for those who want to run some fire roads and then watch or ride along.

It's about 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta, 2 hours from Knoxville, and about an hour and half from Nashville. Primitive camping if you want to stay Sat night with bathrooms & showers on site. There are a few budget hotels nearby in Kimball TN. There was a big Rock Bouncing event last weekend so this weekend should be pretty low key without a big crowd.

AOP is brutal. I'm a Tacoma guy now and was running with a crew up there a few weeks ago. Wrangler on 37s got tossed around like a ragdoll on a "Blue" trail. I'm running Air Lockers F/R and armor and after seeing that flop I proceeded to turn around. Body damage is almost mando at that place

lol, thanks for helping me sell the trip ;)

Certainly there must be guys in the GA/TN/AL area that still like to wheel their junk??

Unfortunately no Rover in the stable that can handle those trails. Took my 90 there a few years back and had a great time

Fer fook's sake, men. I feel like Hank Jr: all my rowdy friends have settled down. GA/TN/AL men: let's meet up before Uwharrie and run some trails. I'll be at either AOP or Mt Aetna each weekend in Sept other than Sat Sept 16. Let's wheel. Fuck. Or are we just here to bullshit and reminisce. We can recreate the Tellico days. But we have to want it....

Not AoP but I need to get back to Windrock again at some point
I’m in between trailers at the moment and that’s too far to drive Molly. But if I get the 90 back from the shop I would be down. Keep me posted.

Man I wish I had a rig to join you. What I have instead is a kid that was on a 90% baseball scholarship to 0% because of a coaching change. So a big bill. I looked up AOP. Looked at some cool vids. Saw this.

The dude at the 2:30 mark. He has a rig that can easily handle the trail in front of him, but he constantly hits the brakes, losing control of the rig till it almost hits a tree. Seems like you might end up waiting around for people to clear the trail who maybe shouldn't be there. Or at least be on that trail.
