So I want to install the 03-04 version of the ARB on my 01 - I just like the look better, and want to retain the fog lights although I know I need to get the round ones. Will this work? Has anyone mounted this bar to an 01 and what mods are involved?

Also, for the winch - AB offers an 8000 and 9000 for a $200 difference, is it worth it to get the 9000 lbs or just over kill?

I have a stock suspension as well and need to get a lift - what springs do I get with this combo on the front to level the truck out? I thought there was a different set with this combo on the truck?

Thanks for the help - I will be doing the install myself so I will post pics along the way.

Thanks again.

I used it dozens of times, winching or recovery always tweaks the bumper

glad it's gone, the safari gard is built 8000 times better

I too like the 03-04 version better. I say get it, and use aftermarket recovery points, like the ones from OK offroad. There are adapters that you can buy for the fog light wiring, but you could probably just get the pigtails from a busted up 2003 from someone. The fog assemblies are about $100 each new from the dealer.

As far as winch goes, most will tell you to get the biggest one you can afford in the brand you've chosen. I was a tightwad and got an M8000 that I almost never used.

Thanks for the replies....

So...will it fit? I assume there is some difference otherwise why have two models other then fog light holes for the 03-04? It seems there was discussion on which one to get but I was looking at the newer style and if there is a difference in fit.

Has someone mounted the new style on the older DII model? What needs to be hacked, does it fit right?

Where can I get the fog light adapters - I think I saw them on ebay once but now cannot find...

Again thanks for the replies -

It will probably drive like crap with the bumper and winch until you get more heavy duty springs. Or at least mine did. I put a terrafirma pro-sport kit (springs and shocks) from lucky8 and it drove great after.

I cannot seem to find the adapters right now, but unless they are $20 or less, I personally wouldn't buy them, I'd just get the pig tails from a junker and splice them in. I think there are some pig tails on ebay for $10 or so. And I but someone here would be willing to sell you some too.

03-04 ARB on my 00DII. OME HD springs (2") 9k MilieMarker. Used a fine tooth blade in a sabre/jig saw to shave an inch, inch and a half off the bottom of the grill.

Ive used the winch quite a bit, no problems. it doesn't have the vertical bolt installed-never got around to it.

overall, it works fine, no issues.

I sell the D2 pre-facelift main harness to facelift fog lamps adaptor harnesses, here on eBay -

The reason you can't find them (or any of my other stuff) is because those @rseholes at eBay have been f*cking about about with their search engine and 'international visibility', which now means that nobody in the US can see stuff from other countries (except China, of course  ).

This also applies to UK buyers being unable to see US listings.

The way around this is to log into the country's site and search it directly.

Anyway, if you want a pair of adaptor harnesses, PM me here, and I can offer them at a better price, with cheaper shipping, than through eBay.

Listing fees, final value fees + fees on shipping - eBay don't deserve them, as they make it impossible to sell stuff on their f*ucked-up site.
