Are ABS and Cruise control related on the D1?

I am trying to diagnose my cruise control issues. Everything seems correct except for the voltage coming in from the VSS.

The VSS appears fine, based on no issues with the speedo or stumbling/stalling. The issue seems to be that the "filter" in the electronics in the back of the instrument cluster is putting out 12V instead of the proper variable signal.

I have heard that the ABS system having an issue will stop cruise control from working. My ABS light is on (and frankly I could have cared less until now). Will this somehow disable the cruise control? If so, is there a way to fool it?

Absent the ABS causing this issue, I am just going to replace the board behind the speedometer.

Thanks in advance for any help, idea, or comments.

I believe you may be correct... My cruise control was working fine until my ABS light came on. I checked fuses, hoses, etc. and everything was fine... just wouldn't work. My ABS light is on due to a wheel speed sensor being pushed out. Plan to fix it this afternoon and hope it fixes cruise control as well. Would like to hear if someone has actual proof of the link though.

Have you checked your hoses? Yes those two will fail because they are powered by a vaccum. With the DI check the hoses for any cracks because that is one of the main problems with the DI cruise control.

Are you getting any ABS lights? if not I would look for a vaccum leak!

Check the schematic in the RAVE? I know there is one for the cruise in there, was just looking at it when i was trying to figure mine out.

VSS is a sneaky suspicion i have too. Mine isnt correct, pump works, hoses are 100%, clutch and brake switches are good to go, supposedly good ECU.

Going to send off the ECU to get fixed just to be certain.

A few years ago i thought the VSS was going out on me, but it hasn't acted up since. Electronic parts dont heal.

If the "fixed" ECU doesnt do it, the VSS is getting changed out with a new one.
