I having trouble with the Disco 2. It will start and die almost instantly. Some times if i hold the gas pedal down it will run past 2k then either start dying or slow die out.
I replaced the CPS with a used one same thing. Cleaned the Iac valve was nasty. Can unplug the Iac and get it to run like crap but wont idle. Took apart the fuel pump checked for power was getting some volage and ground. Tested it with a power prob its runs. give the pump power while someone is cranking does samething. Tps on the codereader shows its moving when the throttle is moving. No codes are bring thrown what so ever. Was driving it down the road a few weeks ago it started acting like i was running out of fuel. Any ideas ?:banghead:

Maf?

EDIT:
At the risk of muddling the picture with D1/GEMS-specific information - when MAF is dead or disconnected or hose is pulled off, the engine will start and die almost immediately. The GEMS write-up says it won't rev past 550 rpm - but I was able to rev it to about a second close to 2k rpm when the MAF to plenum hose was disconnected.

And buddy i havent was looking for the pressure port and found i have to remove the intake manifold to get to it ? does that seam right . usually you can get to a port fairly easy.

You shouldnt have to do that. Get up there so you can see back behind the plenum and you should be able to see it. By the time I can see it I'm usually laying accross the top of the engine like I'm trolling for dick or something. Its the ford style threads on that port.

No!
Just reach behind the driver's side of the upper IM and you will feel the port, it has a cap that you need to unscrew - like a tire valve. Then press in the valve pin - it works exactly like a tire valve.
Unless you have gorilla hands and SAI - then get someone else to do it.

Not to try and point you in to many other directions, but...
I have seen similar problems with the cats being bad and causing to much back pressure, and I have seen where the torque converter can start locking up with out warning and cause the same kind of problems.

how many miles on the truck?

104k I have the exhaust loose cause of putting in a cas so i dont think cats could affect that as of right now. I got to the fuel pressure port not as bad as was described on the internet. only getting 10 psi at the rail. looking for the pressure reg to disconnect.

Check the MAF, it takes 10 seconds. Mine did exactly the same as you describe and a new MAF sorted it out. Unplug the MAF harness and see if it runs. If that's not it then you wasted 10 seconds...
