[ Personal interest ad here..... if no interest, move along, these aren't the droids you're looking for.... ;) ]

Rob Sublett, Daniel Martin, and all the other folks in Tennessee......

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy has a new AT tag coming out for Tennessee. Getting one of these tags will support the AT.

http://www.appalachiantrail.org/site/c.jkLXJ8MQKtH/b.3904005/k.691C/Tennessee_AT_License_Plate.htm

Rovers and hiking seem to go hand in hand, so, consider supporting the AT, and get a tag.... tell your friends, buddies, spread the word.....

And if you're not in Tennessee, suggest to anyone you know in Tennessee to get one. North Carolina already has the tag available, and Virginia is also getting one, as is Georgia.

[ And as Bartles and Jaymes used to say, "We thank you for your support." ]

Pretty cool, looks a lot better than NC's. When I got Hunter I got the Blue Ridge Parkway plate. I am not sure NC is offering that plate anymore? I didnt see it when I ordered my BRP plate.

Thanks for posting Leslie, I'll forward to my brother. He is an avid trail hiker and would appreciate a tag like this on his *gulp* Jeep.

I really liked NC's BR tag. I really hated TN's mountain tag (that purple/orange one). I had Virginia's mountain tag on my vehicles when I lived there, just didn't like TN's. Had TN's bear tag on the second Disco, but on my first Disco, and on the Roo, I had TN's USMC tag. But, since I'm no longer in, the state wouldn't let me keep it anymore....

Currently on the vehicles I have the newer default TN tag (pale green mountains), but I've ordered these to switch over to....

Very cool! I'm surprised they don't have one for VA. We have everything else it seems...horse enthusiast (which I'll get on my next car I think), wildlife conservation, save the bay, parrotheads...you name it!

We picked up a kid hiking the trail earlier this summer...he was from North Dakota and had started in Roanoke. Hurt his leg along the way and abandoned his group. We gave him a ride up the mountain to save him from hiking the last 5 miles to the post office at Montebello.

My Virginia tag was like that, but (since I had a Jeep at the time), said GEO-JEEP. My in-laws took the tag when I moved back to TN, since they had a Jeep, too.

A couple of years ago, my son and I were gonna do an overnight hike to Mt Rogers, but it kept stormin' bad that afternoon, hikers comin' off the mountain, fast..... we ferried several down to the hostel in Troudale.... they dragged us in and we stayed there that night, then after breakfast, took us all back up the mountain, and did Rogers as a day-hike instead....
