Automatic Radiator in a 5-speed?

I have a rotted radiator from an automatic I'm getting a heavy duty core put in ($480) and am thinking of installing it in my 5-speed so I can hook the R-380 oil cooler lines to it. I removed the OE oil cooler to install my RE10000 about 10 years ago.
It seems to me it should work fine, but thought I'd check and see if anyone else has done it, or knows of something about it that I'm overlooking.
I'm rebuilding the R-380 and thought it might be a good time to hook the oil cooler back up. I run Redline MTL.

I just posted on this recently for a 5 speed swap in my 95 Disco. The consensus seems to be that it's fine. The advantage to going with a separate cooler would be that it keeps the heat out of the engine cooling, so I may go that way instead of through the radiator. It would be easy though because you could just use the auto lines as well.

I want to use an auto rad in place of a manual one for my r380 but my concern is this... I realize that when I cap the unused ports I should fill the void with something but what should I fill it with? I would be concerned that no matter what I pour in the void it will eventually cause a problem...has anyone done it and succeeded? It seems to be alot easier to find old auto rads. If they can be used, I would love to know...

I have an oil cooler on my 1999 D2 V8, and while it is useful for the gearbox, it sits in front of the engine radiator, thus partially blocking some airflow.

Worst case is a V8 automatic with aircon (most NAS spec cars) and an engine oil cooler, you have four radiators all trying to get cooled from the same airflow.

I took my oil cooler off, just have the gearbox cooler for the R380, no aircon.
