Auxiliary driving lights (OEM)

I have a '99 DII with auxiliary driving lights mounted on an A-Bar; I've had the truck for just over two years and PO was my brother who had it for about 3 years.
In that time, we've never been able to make the driving lights light up. I've checked all the wire connections and seem to be ok, all of the 'relevant' fuses are ok, all of the other lights work properly as they should.
How likelly is it that the aux light switch is bad?
Here is a drawing of the wires and to where they are connected...am I missing something?

I have an electrical test instrument (don't know what they are called) but as it is apparent, I don't know how to use it.
Any help would be great, I just want these lights to work so I can see how cool they look.

Dont know how insulting this might be: but make sure you have your bright lights on before you try...the high beams must be on for the factory AUX to work...

Not insulting at all NhSee; I tried all the possible combinations: high beams, low beams, low beams with fogs, low beams with rear fogs...
why can't it be as simple as just clicking the switch on?

Nope! bulbs don't seem to be bad.
How likely is it that the actual switch is bad? I looked at it but everything looks as I assume it should.

where is the relay?

Not sure because i'm not good with the technical stuff but i do know that my connections and switches seemed to work but because the relay was shot, they wouldn't work - so maybe someone else with more knowledge can provide some insight?

The original OEM light switch for Land Rover is a serious pain in the ass. It is a special switch that sends a "ground signal" to a relay that either stays open or closed all the time. It is unlike other relays in that if you shut off power to it, it will not instantly turn off. (That sounds confusing...and it is....) Good luck trying to find the relay...they are not easy to find.

The easiest thing to do would be to buy a cruise control switch that clicks on and off and a 30Amp rated relay and just run a whole new circuit rather than trouble-shoot your setup. I will post a circuit diagram and pic later this week when I have time.

I just did this mod a few days ago so I feel your pain.

will look into doing what adviced, getting a CC switch and a 30amp relay...
I'm not very technical though, hoping for the best.
