The rack is worth (can be sold) for far more than $300. I had easily $300 in tube into my rack, plus welding supplies and labor, paint and clamps. It's not just standard DOM tube it is made from Chrome Moly making it lighter than comparable steel tube.

Used doesn't matter when there is a small market and it's not being produced anymore, think of the NAS defender.

I agree that it's definitely worth more than $300. People were paying over $1000 for that rack new (whether they received one or not!).

I haven't done any weight or stress tests but I bet that it's considerable stronger than your everyday SD Disco rack. Furthermore, if it uses the SD clamps like Rob's did (mine doesn't)-those were $125 alone and you cannot get those anymore.

As far as the "short" allegations-if the rack was ANY longer you could not put a work lamp on the rear mounting tabs and still fully open the rear hatch. Kyle discussed that point with me when he built mine.

Say what you want about Kyle but IMHO he did a great job designing that rack and building it. Unlike a Hannibal or Brownchurch this rack barely clears the oddball roof design of the classic and is as low as possible yet fits extremely well. I've also abused it and overloaded it and there has been no bending or stress cracking. At the same time both Aaron and Jack have both experienced cracks and rusting on their SD D1 and D2 racks.

I would not buy one of the NWP racks.

Surprisingly, I can still clear my lame 7' door garage with the rack and 4 Hella 4k and I have a 3" RTE lift and 265/75R16 BFG MT's.

I need to get into the Used Land Rover Rack business if people pay close to $1000 for a used rack!

He hasn't posted pics so who knows what kind of condition. Even if it were in pristine condition, if I had to have it shipped I'd budget enough for it to be blasted and re-powdercoated.

My 2 cents-

My apologies for the lack of pics, I will post them soon the problem is that the truck and rack are on the other side of the city.

the person getting this rack will not be disappointed, I looked and looked for years and when it went out for sale I snatched it no questions asked. I know what it was; I guess it has been too long and the new generation has no idea of what it is.

Rob thanks for the details; I didn't know them...

Simon.
