Its a series 1 Disco. I have an 88 RR with GBR axles and detroit(rear) / TrueTrac(front) lockers. Im pretty sure they can swap right in there but looking for confirmation.

Also, what do you guys know about getting backspacing rims that would allow 15" wheels?

It may be simpler to swap in entire axle assemblies (+rear driveshaft if your Disco is 94 to mid-97). You'll lose ABS, if you care.
Most 15" wheels with Rover bolt pattern will have about 1/2" extra offset (backspacing).

wouldn't i just pull the axles, open the pumpkins, pull the diffs and replace with the Rangie's? The disco is a 98 and Im not worried about the ABS. Its got a TWoods double on the back. Heres another twist. The disco has a 4.1 gear reduction, the Rangie has a 4.0 - wonder if I can swap the crown and pinions... cuz Id rather have the 4.1 - I might get up to 70mph

IOW, anyone know if I can put the 4.1 gear sets onto the lockers I have on the Rangie. I would think so.

Ho, how are you man? Well, I am really considering this Disco. The Rangie is getting rather "knackered". I blew one of the swampers and couldnt buy another set cuz micky thompson sold the molds i guess. I put nice, brand new cooper tires on her last fall and took my son turkey hunting. I wound up having her towed 275 miles home; I think the viscous fan coupling went bad, not sure. Still runs but needs a full rebuild from the cams up, PS, and sort out the cooling issue thats never been right since truck haven. It wouldnt start when hot without ether down the gullet for the last couple of years - but that wasnt too bad because I mostly used it for cruising our hunting land, getting to and from the hunt. I also broke off a rear shock mount. So, its either clean the garage and get back under that hood or start with a newer one... great to "hear" your voice buddy!!

the bolt pattern for the axles on an 88 RRC is different than the disco's. i could use a set of those axle's myself if you decide they wont work out for ya.

Which ones would you be interested in? What bolt pattern is different? The hub?

yes the early rrcs use a different bolt pattern on the axle flange. i'd be interested in the HD axles since i have a 88 rrc and a hybrid on a 86 rrc chassis, one of which will need some better axles.

So what I want to do, is use the matching lockers and hd axles from my rangie in a d1
