Need stock D1 front and rear bumpers to replace my mangled pieces. Don't care for the appearance/weight of most aftermarket pieces I've seen. Prefer to be very cheap/free and in the Phoenix area as it's not worth the shipping costs. I'm in North Scottsdale and will pick up. Long shot, but I thought I'd try since someone local may have saved their old parts when they upgraded. azamstaff@yahoo.com

Wish you were closer to the East Coast....

I would be really happy to get the stock front bumper from my 96 D1 out of my attic. Wish you were closer....

Cheers,

Ted

Geographically challenged but thinking...

I had a friend mention that Greyhound might be an option. He said that guys on the Fiero forum use Greyhound to ship engine cradles. Apparently, they don't require boxing the item, and it must be fairly reasonable. I could probably get it to the Greyhound terminal in Harrisburg PA, if you wanted to do a little research.

Just trying to get this thing out of my attic.

Regards,

Ted

I am aware of Greyhound as a shipping service, as well as Forward Air freight shipping. There's an FA terminal here in Phx, don't know if you have one there. How heavy can the bumper be? If you unbolt the end caps and the front cladding and box them up separately, the steel portion of the bumper can't weigh more than 35 or 40 pounds.

Ted: I checked forwardair.com and they have terminals in Pittsburgh, Philly and Newark. Not sure where you are relative to those cities. Even a regular service like UPS Ground or FedEx ground would take the bumper unboxed. You'd have to package the plastic stuff separately, but the metal portion of the bumper could be shipped with an address label taped on. I use them all the time to ship leaf springs and parts like that unboxed.

Dion,

The Forward Air Terminals are all at least two hours away from me. Philly would be the closest, and Pittsburgh is about four hours away.

I will spend a little time this weekend measuring the bumper, and see about removing the end caps and mounting hardware. Once that is done, I will try and see what the cost might be for UPS ground service.

I guess the next question would be how much is too much for you to spend on shipping?

Let me know.

Cheers,

Ted

Hey, Ted. Thanks for taking the trouble. The end caps and front fascia just unscrew from the metal portion. I need the caps, but the front fascia isn't necessary. The caps you could box and ships UPS or FedEx Ground for about $10 or so. The metal portion of the bumper you could just measure, weigh and tape a shipping label onto. I'd give you a biz address to ship to so it'll be cheaper. If it weighs about what I think, you should be able to ship the metal bumper and the end caps for roughly $50 to $60.
