Bad Disco, Defroster

With temps around 0 for a few days and putting more miles on the Disco due to the snow, I am reminded of the terrible defroster. No matter where I direct the heat, I cannot keep the side windows clear. Don't even mention the back, and that is only with two people in it. I realize they were not made for this climate but anyone tried anything that worked even a little better?

On a lighter note, I smoked a 2016 Charger off the line tonight. Gapped him in the 1/8 and was so far ahead in the 1/4 that I tapped the brake lights just to add insult to the humiliation. Gotta love a Rover in the snow...

I had to make sure the air was on for moisture in cabin control. Your recirculation mode might not be turning off and breathing will fog the windows.

I run the a/c year round. It helps dramatically with defrost. Many vehicles activate a/c in defrost mode for this reason. Another upside is it keeps a/c system seals lubricated. With an underpowered vehicle already getting low teens for mileage the 'extra' cost to operate the a/c is negligible.

a/c dehumidifies...

Recirc, A/C on, Dash vent open, any temp you like... hot or cold, the air is dehumidified.

Hmmm, I never use recirc when I want to defog the windows. Instead I hit the AC and draw in the drier outside air. I'll even crack the windows to get outside airflow to the rear windows.

I have not tried the A/C yet. I was always worried of a freeze up or something like that. I guess it is not exactly like a home system. I knew it pulled humidity out of the air, just never tried it. As for the recirc, my button will not light so I am not sure if it works or not. The switch moves, but the light does not come on. I will have to investigate.

Thanks for the tip, I will try it today. -6 this morning but the sun is back.
