There's a old-school, low-tech way to find a voltage drain on any vehicle. No bloody computers needed....

Attach a test lamp between the negative battery terminal and the ground cable clamp, then disconnect the clamp whilst keeping the test lamp connected to both. (This will maintain power to the few circuits that always draw some power and get a mite cranky if you don't.) The brighter the light, the bigger the current drain. Start by disconnecting the alternator, as blown diodes will cause a big drain. Then, one at a time, pull fuses.... When the bulb dims, you've found the circuit with the drain.

Cheers

If you've paid a LandRover tech three times, it doesn't speak well for the quality of techs in your neck of the woods.

OK, are you living close to a hydro substation. The question may sound strange, but, we had a customer with this issue. The radio antennas in the back window were picking up signal power from the substation and turning the BECM on. It would go off and the power would cause it to turn back on. We disconnected the antennas and the problem went away.

You may have a bad alternator, even though it is charging the system with the engine running. You are experiencing the battery draining when the engine is off and not charging the system. The alternator in very few cases can draw from the battery at rest.

I had this problem years ago. The Land Rover mechanic I went to found that the alternator was the problem, and that this failure mode was rare.

1. Disconnect the alternator leads.
2. Fully charge the battery.
3. Check battery about 12 hours later. If battery is still charged, go to 4.
4. Connect the alternator leads.
5. Check battery about 12 hours later. If battery is discharged, the alternator needs to be replaced.

Let us know what you find.

I had that same problem with a customer car, I think they parked under power lines or something.
