Battery/ECU question

I am doing some work on my truck 03 D2, head gaskets, timing set, oil pump and more and wondering if it matters, as far as ECU programming and memory, if my battery is disconnected for weeks? I have the heads off and all of the engine sensors, connectors, etc unplugged so wasn't sure if the battery should be connected or disconnected while in limbo? Will it effect the ECU or any of the computers not having power? Should I reconnect the battery as it sits? Don't have any way to reset ECU or any of that if it lost it's memory so just want to make sure it's ok to leave battery disconnected. I was afraid with having all the connectors dangling it may short something out if I left the battery connected? Which should it be battery connected or disconnected? Thanks

No problem. Might put the battery on a trickle charger if you have one. If not, just give it a good charge before starting.

Hi thanks, No problem as in leave it connected? Not so worried about the battery as about the ECU loosing it's memory. I have a charger and can charge the battery but don't have any way to reset the ECU if it looses it's memory. So are you saying to leave it connected is no problem or disconnected no problem?
