I pierced a brand new truck battery with a small nail to a nail gun in the side close to the bottom. (It's along story) Some liquid leaked out but not much. What have I done and what's going to happen?

Basically I was making a stand to lift and hold by battery and I wanted it to be snug. Long story short nail bound up came out sideways. Never happens unless you have something really delicate or full of battery acid next to whatever you are nailing. (or a finger)

So no one has any idea what I've done?

As long that the nail didn't go into the plates it should be fine. I've used a a high grade silicone
like ultra copper so seal hole's in battery cases before then ad acid after the silicone sets up for 24-48 hours.
remove the nail if it is still in it.
Napa caries battery acid.

Lift and hold the battery??? How about lift with arms and set on ground? Am I missing something here? Sounds like there's more to the story. Don't be embarrassed, no one will ridicule you here.

I was making a stand for the battery to sit on and be snug. Measured once but it wasn't snug enough so I used the battery as a template. Nail came straight out of the gun bound in the wood and took a 90 degree turn straight into the battery.
