I don't know for certain, but its lower than you would think. probably around 5. he's got that in the axles alone, I think, not to mention the new motor.

yeah, its got a scratch or two that won't buff out, but that black and yellow are both stock off the shelf colors at Lowes.

I was surfing ebay at work Sunday PM and came across it. It is a great truck and was a JOY to pull out a few years ago, SAE 02. Too bad the wifey won't buy it for me for Christmas!

That truck has been trail proven at tellico, that's for sure. the owner keeps the mechanicals in top shape. its got a new motor just dropped in last year, new springs, etc. locked, HD GBR axles, big ole swampers. crap, you can't buy all that stuff for what he's asking for it. he's over rover'd right now, having just acquired a 90 and is out of garage space.

someone's missing a deal.

Yea someone buy this truck. I'd buy it if I could justify having another vehicle in the driveway.

This is the truck that made me fall in love with land rovers years ago. The first time i went wheeling in that truck i was something like 12 or 13 years old.

Well the Beast has a new home. It now lives in Va around Richmond. My brother is an avid discoweber. I am hoping that it is going to be alot of fun. And yes it is going to be repainted eventually as well as receiving a new wiring harness as well as other mods. :D

Here is the vid of the first outing. Unfortunately the seller didn't mention the broken front axle shaft so I only had 2wd. We still had fun tho. http://www.discoweb.org/forums/showthread.php?p=327004#post327004

So I'm the seller and had absolutely no idea the front axle shaft was broken. In fact, we drove it at MAR and there was no sign of it being broken. After MAR, it was driven off the trailer once and then driven back on. I hate that it happened, but please don't presume that I knew as I most certainly did not.

And btw, the trutrac in front should have given you at least 3 wheel drive.

Glad you're enjoying..:applause:

If I had a locker in the front I would have had 3 wheel drive. The tru track relies on the drag of the slipping wheel to transmit the power to the other wheel. Since the axle snapped at the splines clean there was no resistance. And when that axle snapped I think you would definably know. It would sound like a gun going off and you loose all pull on the front. Its being fixed now. It's cheaper to do the Toyota conversion then put the new inner axles in the front. Oh Chris who put the axles under the truck and set everything up for you?

So the axle set up (hub to hub) was purchased from thatched roof garage. the locker was from great basin rover and set up locally. The axle set was a complete deal, just unbolt from the springs, shocks, tie rods and brake lines and sway out.

You should sell whats left of it...the swivel balls and all are valuable and new. Again, sorry this happened, but I never heard anything and it pulled just fine at MAR...no way we would have not noticed 2WD in those conditions, even with the rear locker.
