BECM problems

Last night I was driving around and all of a sudden, on the display, I got the "Gearbox Fault" message, the "Airbag Fault" message, the check engine light on, three fuses blown, all the gages read 0, and finally, the display went blank. I started the truck again, and everything was normal, for a while, and then it happened again. I'm thinking that the chances for all this breaking at once are pretty slim, and the only thing I think could have caused something like this would be the BECM. Hopefully, I'm wrong, but if it is the BECM, how much is it going to cost me to get that fixed?

Luckily, it turned out to be just the alternator. Only about $550. Thanks!

Jparker,

All you probably needed to do was replace the brushes and voltage regulator which is molded as a unit in the older 96, P38A's. It costs no were near $550 dollars.
