This topic was discussed in great detail on the previous server. The title was something like...Best place(s) to mount a fire extinguisher. I am sure others will post regarding this subject and notify us where they mount their gear.

Re: "And PVC... hahaha... I bet that looks nice."
I painted the pipe to match the interior.
I am not trying to say a mount facing forwards will not work effectively under normal circumstances. As long as it works for that vehicles occupants that is what counts. I just wanted to give someone who has yet to mount the light some food for thought.
My Point is: $hit Happens, Be Prepared (sorry Boyscouts, I modified it a little.)
Anything I can do to make sure I can walk out of the bush is a step worth taking. In Montana my nearest neighbor was ~7-miles away from my house. If I had to crawl away from a wreck, a possible 3.5 miles, I would be screwed without snow and dead with it. That was just if I wrecked in my driveway. If I wrecked in the bush, myself and my rover may never be found...especially if I were in the Bob (Bob Marshal Wilderness). My safety gear and it's locations have changed drastically since living up North. A 12 guage, recovery sack and fully stocked survival/med sack now go on all wilderness excursions.
PS: Nice Site (HLRC) Good layout and nice content. What software did you use?
