A neighbor is starting the oil and there are a few of us on teh block sharing one pot. I hope it turns out.... only problem is that you can't do the stuffing IN the bird... "Stove-Top" here I come!

Hmmmm, you got a video camera around cause I'm seeing a spot for "Americas Funniest Home videos" you could get a grand for truck mods if you win.. I really hope that you guys all got the same displacement turkey sizes.. Could make for a nice grease fire when some one fills the pot up for a 10 pound turkey and then a 15 pounder gets put in it..

LOL.... Maybe we could have an "accident" to win some of that prize $$$

We all went with 22 to 25 pounders, and we are actually using a crab kettle.

Cool, I was getting visions of oil over flow, followed by a nice deck fire.. If it's the crab pots that I'm thinking of you could probably do two at a time with enough heat under it. Ummm, fried turkey.. I already got one marinated, rubbed, and waiting for the frier. I was going to smoke one as well, but, I just don't feel like getting up that early.. So we're just going with one fried and one roasted. Misses wouldn't let me do the Turducken this year.. However, this summer we're going to stuff a turducken in a pig and spit it.. talk about some good eats there.. yuuuummmmmyyyyyy!!!!

Man that reminds me...

When I was growing up we had this dog that got loose and went into the neighbors garage and ate a cut of meat she had put out there to thaw.

She came to the house and said, "your dog ate my roast". We thought she'd be pissed and offered to buy her family dinner if they wanted to go out or replace the meat, whatever she wanted. All she said was, "I'm worried about your dog, the meat was raw." Nicest old lady I ever knew.
