So I just got my 2nd disco (04) and it came with a Hannibal rack with the removable sides and back. My old disco (99 d2) has a SD on it with 4 HID's on top.

I am not sure that the rack and HID will add much value to the normal buyer so I am seeling the 99 topless.

No I am left with 3 options for the 04:: topless, Hannibal, SD. What do you guys think?

What's the point of lugging a totally un-aerodynamic rack around if you dont intend using it to carry anything????????
Mine comes off after each 4x4 trip that we do

I've sold every rack I've ever owned. My truck spends too much time in the garage to keep a rack on it.

I had an SD on my old 1996 Disco. Great rack for when you truly need it but pain in the ass the rest of the time. My 2004 is staying rackless.

I had an SD low on my '96. It was still too tall for my garage and most parking garages.

Mine is off most of the time. Even when I go to Nevada. The only time it goes on is when I really need it on for a several day trip or to haul something. It's noisy and it drags enough where I have to drop to 4th gear on hills it pulls fine in 5th with the rack off. Gas mileage drops, too.

I use mine for transporting a burley bike trailer, as well, great for picking up 4x8 sheets of wood. I use it all summer, take it off for the whole winter.

Mine doesnt fit in my garage without the rack anyhow, so who cares.

To me , Roof racks on Land Rovers is like chrome for cars, Some people think its nice , some don't.
I personally think a roof rack gives a Rover more of a purposeful look, meaning business and its going places if you decide too
Roof racks on rovers is like , bacon and eggs, potatoes and gravy, not good but Oh how I enjoy em..

Before I got my D1 I was a firm believer in "Roof Racks are Ghey" I still believe that somewhat however I leave mine on for a couple of reasons.
#1 It kept my roof from hitting trees on the last Nachese trip (side slope road, going through trees, the geometry tends to lean you into the uphill tree) just a slight tap, but a tap that didn't hit my roof or rear roof windows.
#2 It covers a dent on my roof (PO says a tree fell on the car) I'm sure I could pull it out but why? I got a rack to cover it (sounds of banjo playing...)
#3 If I take it off it'll never go back on!
#4 Gives me a place to shoot lions from.

I'll keep my ghey ass roof rack on until I decide to sell it or sell the D1!

P.S. I have no intention of putting anything up there, my COG is bad enough without two tires and the kitchen sink up there. I just leave it on for the "off road" look so I don't get laughed out of the mall parking lot!

My rack comes in super handy all year round. I use it to carry wood if I need to, my Canoe fits up top nicely now without wanting to slide all over the roof. I have 3 kids and a wife and you try to go camping without a roof rack for coolers, tents etc etc. The rear cargo area just aint cuttin it for gear for 5 people. The cargo area holds the blankets/sleeping bags and the cloths. My 3 boys can seem to find water and mud even if we went to the moon.
