I have a 98 Disco with the L/R heavy duty springs with Bilstiens. I am pretty sure it gave me maybe an inch. What is the biggest size tires I can go with. I am looking at the GoodYear MTRs, an help would be appreciated.

I have 245/75 Goodyear MTR's on mine with 2" of lift. I have seen a guy run the same tires on a stock D1.

:D go ask this on pirate if you want to have some fun......
any way, i fit 265/75-16s under my dI, they scrub on the radius arms if you don't adjust the steering stops. otherwise cool tires.

I have a OME 3" lift with the GY MTR 265's and you have to trim quite a bit from the rear wheel well and adjust the front steering stops. They look great and performance of the MTR's is awesome. If you are not prepared to butcher your disco, stick to 245 in which you will still have to trim but not as much.

With a sawszall almost anything will fit.
:D

Seriously thought I have the same set up as you on springs and shocks (RN sourced).

I would not do 265 with a D1, 235.85 fit and look better with a d1. But come on you have been around long enough to know this answer.

When I had OME lift only, the 235/85-16 would have required a lot more trimming compared to 245/75-16. I stayed with the 245/75 and very minor trimming (see tech section) until I went a bit higher. Maybe you can get around this if you pull the fender out a bit, dunno.

Here is what I would do... take to a 4x4 shop in your area that has the tires in stock that you like. If they really want your business they will fit one of each (one at a time), then go over to a dock or something and test the stuffage and see where each rubs (they will).

Then decide.

my 235.85 only requred a little amount of trimming, not very much at all, and they are fine fully stuffed.
