Ok with me being evacuated to my state of residency I am thinking about buying a gun for my birthday on monday. My options are all over the place so I am looking for some advice.

Option 1:
Ruger 10/22 for 190.00
Stripped AR15 lower for 100.00
Maybe a pocket pistol

Option 2.
Ruger 10/22
Conceal Carry Pistol

Option 3.
HK USP in .40 for 488.88

Option 4.
HK USP compact in .40 for 500.00

Can't really go wrong with a 10/22; but if you wanted a fun .22 consider a dedicated .22 AR upper so you can have the same ergonomics as the larger caliber but at a fraction of the cost to shoot all day.

Not to give you more options....
Otherwise I'd say #2.

I just did this with mine b/c I've always had a fondness for the M1 carbine (as mediocre of a weapon as it was, it served well).

This is rather snazzy, despite the show itself:

Were I to get another one (I already have 3 .22 long guns for fun so not sure I'll do that anytime soon) I'd probably just get a hogue overmolded stock and a bull barrel and call it good. Seriously fun rifle though. A classic.

I ain't giving any of those douchebags in Baton Rouge a dime of my money. Every time I go to a gun show in the area they are there and have such a huge cult following it is sad. I went to one where they even brought their duece and a half over.

Plus the ARs they build are overpriced for what they are.

Too funny-from afar the show just seems idiotic but like much of the other stuff on TV, never discussed it with someone who is close enough to get a sense of what they are actually like in the locale.

I wouldn't get an AR from them when there are so many better options out there, the only thing I've seen other than the innovation with the 10-22 that would be a fun toy is SBR'ing a Saiga but that's not something they have the sole monopoly on either.

You won't be sorry with either if the HK options. If I ever get off my high horse about 1911s and buy a plastic pistol, the HK is it. Every time I've shot one I've been impressed.

how about these
1) Keltech Bullpup shotgun, twin 7 round tubes

2) Keltech PMR 30 (30 rounds of 22 mag) pistol
http://www.keltecweapons.com/our-guns/pistols/pmr-30/
3) S&W M&P Shield 9mm, tried out a dirty range rental with ball and it functioned & shot great.

This weekend I'm going to try out 2 Kimber 1911's, a 3' compact ultra carry and a 4"(?) custom shop Pro Raptor II and pick one to buy (at a very nice price from my brother inlaw)

I like option 2, but it depends on what conceal carry pistol you are thinking about. 10/22's are always fun.
Option 3 and 4 are also good. i'm not a huge fan of HK pistols, but my main beef is their msrp price which doesnt seem like a problem with you. Those prices seem really good for HK's. For $500 though, I would buy a Glock. But i'm a Glock guy. Buy all means, if you are an HK guy go for it.

I ended up not getting a good gun for conceal carry. I sold my S&W 910 and purchased an M&P 9 and the 10/22.

Maybe I will pick up a Keltec next month for CC or a LCP because I like how the belt clip makes it look like I have a pocket knife.

Curious to hear what you thought. I've got both. The ultra is completely awesome and I haven't put more than a box or so though the pro since I bought the 3".
