I've been looking into them. i have a local shop that can get me one of their bumpers but its by a different company. literally the same exact pics, options, plans and prices. they have a slimline looking bumper that looks nice and i like the idea of the price (affordable), its on the yellow truck on that page.

I see two different varieties. One of them hangs out there like a fishing pier, but the other (with the bent piece at the top of the winch tray) appears to be a bit tighter.

Cheers,

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS!!!!!!! My buddy ordered their front and great bumpers for his Jeep Commander and it took them almost 4 months longer than they said. It would take. They have had three or four different company names in the Jeep world.

It's amazing that ONLY RTE pirates the $G design. It's so much better looking/ better designed than most of the stuff out there.

to me this is kind of the chicken and the egg thing. Who actually came first? I know RTE has been making it's bumpers for a long time. When did SG start to make theirs? I know RTE has sold a hell of a lot more at least on the east coast.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that two companies working independently towards the same goal of building a slim bumper with clean lines could have come to similar end results.

I don't either but since the topic of piracy was raised I thought I would put up that question. Personally I don't think the two designs are that similar. Maybe at 50' away but if you've ever looked at the actual build of the two they are totally different.

I've never seen a TR bumper in person. My old HiCountry had good lines and was solid but they're long gone.

That is hard to say, I wouldn't have a clue. SG was making making parts for dealers back in the day of D1s, I'm not sure how long RTE has been around, but it's been a while.

Before the prices of Discos dropped and made them available to everyone, there were two bumpers available for discos: the Safari Gard and ARB. Back when Rovertym got going they were mainly dealing with suspension components. There was even a picture on their site of John Bradley Smith's D1 with a Safari Gard bumper. Then a little while later they starting making bumpers. Their bumpers were definitely a step forwards in terms of strength, but a step backwards in aesthetics.

Safari Gard was making bumpers for at least a few years longer than RTE.
