My home is where my Disco is
At 50K miles and out of warranty
-New front and rear diffs (after unsuccessful repair that cost $3K)
-Rebuilt steering rack (play and rusty)
-New thermostat housing (leak)
-New lower suspension arms bushes, balljoints and anti roll bar bushes and alignment ($700)
-New suspension upper arms (fitted by me as was fed up of paying so much)
-Still to come: New front body mounts (trying to figure aout a DIY solution) and front and rear valve blocks
Maybe front rad as well (don't want to kill my tranny due to the inner cooler fracturing and mixing ATF with glycol)

My '04 was a money pit. Still didn't have everything fixed when I sold it.

I've had my '08 for 6 months and it has been great. Only stuff I had fixed was a rattle (caused by incorrect reassembly of the center console) and a reset of the eas (no faults). LR3 is much nicer to drive, too. The engine is fantastic.

LR3 is a nice truck. That said, try and get a 2007 and up, more reliable. Through our shop, as mentioned above, front suspension work, air compressors, electronic parking brake, electrical connectors under the hood. We've even removed the connectors and done direct splice of cables for some customers. They are amazing offroad, even with stock tires and the drive over the D2 is night and day. Still have my 2003 D2 but watching for a good LR3 coming through the shop and for sale.
