Alright so I am trying to make sure that I am good for this coming weekend. I have a noise in my front end. It occurs only in the drivers wheel well area. It only occurs when I let off of the brake at say stoplights and such. It sounds like a popping noise. It only happens once when the brake is released. I have new rotors and pads professionally installed 2 months ago. I had a front end inspection at a local shop that has a great front end guy. He said it was coming from the dash area. He said that it was between the brake pedal and the master cylinder is what he thinks. Said maybe a hydra boost. I didn't think LandRovers had those. Could be mistaken though.
Alright have your best shot.
Help is appreciated!

Did your guy replace the shims as well? The thin metalic plate between the the pads and the caliper piston. This may cause the pop!

Just a thought....I could be way off here!

Some guys use silicone as a substitute for the shims!

what kind of noise? squeak, screech... what?

Lnadrovers have no hydra boost, well most don't, not from the factory ;)

Classics with ABS have Hydroboost.... Just saying.

They make noise? What's all the fuss - at least you STOP!:banghead:

Now that is funny:D but true ....man if i tried to track down every noise my D-l makes i'd go nuts, especially the ones that come and go.....

About that poping noise ....it may be coming from the brake booster but it sounds more like front end to me, when you brake, the front axel wants to rotate and the radius arms want to stop that from happening...... I'd suggest worn bushings somewhere.

Thats kinda what I have been thinking. But figured since I am trying to go on a trip this coming weekend I thought I would try to figure it out.

I coulda swore someone suggested checking the tightness of the wheel nuts.....:banghead:
