Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Seals/Grommets

Went to bleed the system yesterday and was getting a leak at the reservoir grommet just as I was getting above 12 or so PSI on the pump.

I have not been able to find the grommets anywhere. Truck is a 1997 with ABS (ABS disconnected and DOA for a while).

The non-ABS reservoir kit is substantially less expensive then the ABS kit, $50 vs $170. Does anyone know, or can confirm, if the grommets/seals are the same? They appear to be but it would be an unpleasant surprise to find out they are not with the parts in pieces in my driveway.

That's the only pieces I need and if I have to buy a kit just to get them them, I'll take the $50 hit, but would rather not drop $170...

Might I suggest a WHOLE (cheap knock-off) ASSEMBLY for 46$?
Worst case scenario take the tank and seals and toss the rest in spare parts bin.

It looks like the sub $50 kits are the non-abs kits. Trying to figure out if the parts I need carry over to the much more expensive ABS kit.

IF all you need is the grommets, they look like they match to me; yellow cones look alike which one of the grommets actually mates with inside. The ABS I believe has a different tank on top as it has a level sensor and the other does not, but maybe they are idk.

Mine was leaking here as well, and I pulled them out and cleaned them up real good and put back together. And it still leaked. So this time I used RTV as I too found the grommets impossible to find, that did NOT last long. I ended up getting a rebuilt master cylinder JUST for these grommets and ended up using it as it too was Stamped Lucas like the old one. In hindsight, I WISH I had gotten a whole assy like the link I sent. At least I would have a new tank, sensor and its seal on top. Anyhow 46$ and free return shipping if its belly up; that is what I would get. At the very least you would get those grommets for sure! :) Just trying to help!

I hear you. I believe the actual tank/cap/etc are in good shape. After draining the fluid, I tested the pump and bleeder seals on the reservoir at 15PSI and it held no issue. Only had the leak when started trying to push fluid through it. It was good at past 10PSI and I noticed the drop just below 15PSI. Now, after two days of LA freeway and around town driving, it shows no signs of a leak or drip. I hate intermittent issues...

Hey I am all for spare parts and Shotgunning issues! lol. Off-roading is where mine would start to dump fluid sloshing around. I also had a leak on the Valve thing that is just below the master. It was leaking fluid down some lines and for a long time I couldn't figure out how brake fluid was leaking around the driver's seat area. I snugged up the Ferrals on the proportioning valve thing and it hasn't leaked since. Welcome to the Rover club, home of intermittent issues and leaks!

Been there before. You will ever find the odd one separate from anyone in the aftermarket.
