I have a '97 that I just changed the front pads on, the old Lockhead pads had a groove cut in the center from top to bottom like alot of pads out there do. My question is the new Mintex pads do not have this groove and I put them on anyway, will I have issues now? If I do could I take them out and cut the groove in them and put them back on?
Thoughts any one?

say hello to the SQUEAK king.

No harm, but your caliper piston will now vibrate as you stop causing a piercing squeaking... I am still trying to fix mine, goo this goo that, it all helps but then months later it returns.

Apply the red anti-squeak goop is your best bet to the back of the pad.

Well, when I took the old ones out there was a rubber/fiber thing on the back of the old ones that I took off and put on to the new set. I also sprayed the back down with that blue brake quiet stuff.
