I am going to be replacing all rotors and pads this weekend and would like to know if there are any special tools I need in order to get it done.

TIA,
Jeremy

2 1/4'" socket for the front hub nuts.....Impact screwdriver to possibly remove the pozi drive screw holding the rotor to the hub...Grease for the bearings...Somethng to push the brake pistons back into the bore...Anti squeal goop for the backs of the pads...that should have you covered....oh lots of brake cleaner.

Sorry if asking about this is a no - no or something. just thought : hey brakes on the mind, getting a little greasy when the other stuff comes in to work with shy not fix that now too if it is di yourself - able. does it have to be rover stuff or what ? are you upgrading or suggest to do so ? most of my braking in on the road braking, then the play in is the mud.
thanks in advan ce.

Thanks guys! Dan, I got a whole brake kit (front and rear), pads, rotors, seals, gaskets and other stuff for $230 shipped from XKS unlimited. Sweet deal if you ask me. It's no DBA stuff but I bet you it is just as good as OEM. The rotors are from the UK (allmakes 4X4) seals and gaskets are not labeled, the pads are lockheed, and the hardware is lucas.

Are you typing through a translator, or wearing big gloves or something? I can never quite understand what you are asking.

I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just curious.

Cheers,

Big fingers moving too fast for accuracy, however, I will proof from now on... translator ?? No, Not Translating, ... Unless you count translating coonass into regular english, of course. Also sometimes I do have a refreshment at the end of a day's work, and my typing goes a bit loose for some reason.
No offense taken, I appreciate getting a response and would not jeapordize that with tedious reading for those that would help if they could see what the hell I want to know.
thanks for the tip.

So when I am refitting the hub, do I need a dial indicator to check the end float on the shaft or can I wing it? Let me know what you guys do, also is the hub nut 52mm, 2 1/8, or 2 1/4. All the manuals, rave cd and haynnes, or the AB/rovers north catalogs don't tell me the size of the hub nut size. I will check the FAQ.

TIA!!!
