Hey! Who has a Discovery 1 who would like to help a member out by taking a side pic of the hard lines going out of their brake valve (apportioning valve, proportioning valve, brake pressure valve) AND the lines from the top as they go into the ABS box and master cylinder? I took mine out today and it's a kind of giggly game to work the lines back into place. Seriously, it would be an amazing kids' game.

I need to have a pic so I can see what goes where and I am a supergenius so did not take one until it was a little too late. Because I am a super, duper genius.

Ok, 57 of you who read this -- who wants a $15 Amazon gift card for taking said pics?

Just go out and snap a pic of the unit mounted, and then a pic of the ABS and MC with connex from the top! Easiest $15 you'll make today!

So my proportioning valve (apportioning valve, brake valve) was leaking. I replaced it over Thanksgiving weekend but then couldn't get my bleeding to work, as it was just me. I had it towed to the shop last night to do a power bleed. This morning, they called -- he said, "it's leaking like crazy out of the ABS." The ABS had been deleted but never removed, and it never leaked before. I am kinda pissed!!!!

I don't want to shell out for a new modulator, and can't really even find one. I also don't wanna rebuild something that I never used anyway, and go through what seem like real ABS hassles people have... I think my only option is to find an indie who will rebuild the brake plumbing as in this post?

And I am guessing that the "extra" port is the one along the firewall, the currently has a black dot on it? That's removable, and the RL goes in there?

I'd get a second opinion or ask for photos. My experience in St. Louis has been that not many shops know how to or want to work on these trucks.

fwiw....I have managed to blow out 2 of those stock brake proportioning valves in the last year.....finally switched to no ABS( removed it all) and installed a Willwood adjustable prop. valve ($50).....good brakes now, not a lot invested.
