Brake wear questions

Just got finished changing rotors and pads on my '96 Disco. Seemed a little strange that the rear pads were worn more than the front. Probably 50% more worn. Has anyone else had this experience? All pads have the same mileage. Does a D1 have a brake proportioning valve that I'm missiing? I know some vehicles have a proportioning valve that needs to be adjusted after you lift the vehicle to preserve the front/rear braking balance. Can't find any such thing on my D1.
Thanks

Thats what they do, depends how you drive but I find mostly they do a 1 1/2 sets or rears to 1 set of fronts. Auto box cars are harder on the brakes. There is no valve the compensates for load in the rear.

I found the same on my '04 D2, ETC has something to do with it in my case I think. Mostly I believe it is about driving style, if you hammer your brakes at stop lights you are going to go through fronts faster, if you coast like me the rears seem to wear more.

Having a manual, I guess I do coast to stops more than stomp on them. I just didn't remember this wear pattern from the last time I replaced pads.
Glad to hear that I'm not crazy about thinking there is no proportioning valve.

rear

My rear brakes were fine just recently and the front right one was worn all the way down to the metal.....which I'm assuming means a caliper failed causing the issue....weird thing about it is it didn't seem to be a major issue breaking until friday of last week....then it was scraping on the rotor which to me shocked me because it never felt any fade or difficulty to stop the truck until then....and it was the only one majorly worn out.....
