Not a must. I put aftermarket for 5 years and never had a noise problem. Few people will have different experience though!!!

I have a 00 D2 and just put in a EBC HD brake kit - works great, like the brakes should have been in the first place, maybe more $ than you want to spend but worth it IMO.

I am puttin it up for sale in two weeks on autotrader, I just wanted to take care of the front brakes for the buyer so they wouldnt have to deal with it...they arent making noise, only a faint squeek when I dont fully apply pressure---but the brake dust is heavier than usual so I suspect that it needs pads.....

How much did you drop into your ebc kit? Land Rover quoted me 300 for the pads minus 10% for my girlfriends employee discount....and I found two front pads at advance for $70 and could just do it myself......im open to options though, thanks for the input guys

EBC kit isnt nesceary since you're getting rid of it. autozone brakes will squeal like hell.......get some pads form atlantic british, nathan (discount rovers), etc. they;ll probably be about $80 an axle

you don't have to go to the dealer unless you feel like making a donation
