Out of frustration over a little thing like a stupid plastic radiator plug (and four Rovers later), I have finally decided to pursue a real solution at a reasonable cost and would appreciate some feedback (oh boy, here we go).
First, I wanted a plug that was obviously the correct thread (1/2" BSPP), was made out of brass, had an o ring seal in a groove and might have a feature that would prevent over-tightening. I think I found the solution. It meets all the criteria but instead of having a hex head that a wrench ape can get too aggressive with, it takes a hex key or driver (i.e.-allen wrench).
I'm not looking to make a business out of this. I just want to know how many folks would want one (or a hundred) and I would work out the details on getting it.
In addition to the DI radiators, I think it would also fit DII and P38 diffs. In small quantities, they could probably be bought and delivered by mail for under $9.00 each. Less per unit if there is any quantity.
Thoughts?
