Hey folks, its been a while since I have been on here with a post. But I have a new conundrum that I need some help with. My drivers side door lock is broken and will no longer engage or disengage the lock. I have pulled my door trim panel off and gotten to the root of the problem. There is a plastic de-tented washer that sits on the back of the door lock tumbler right behind the tension clip. It is the piece that tuns with the key that engages the auto lock/ unlock mechanism. It is cracked in half and i cant find anyone that can tell me where to get a replacement part from.

I ordered a new lock-set but that did not include the piece i need. I talked to Nathan at discount rovers and he thinks that it is part of the door latch assembly but i do not want to start ordering more parts if i am not sure that i will get the bit i need.

I am including some images i snapped of the broken part. Hopefully someone here can help me. I can't drive my rover anywhere in Oakland,CA where i live because it is not a place where you do not have your door locked 24/7. So until i replace this piece i have one giant paper weight in my driveway.

I have broken 2 in the last few months. I highly suggest adjusting the linkage so it won't bind and break again like mine has. Try any used parts...or people parting out rigs....will tillery is your best bet...he's looking 1 right now anyway.

After that..go get a remote and forget the key.....you're lucky the key didn't get stuck in the lock or break...ask me how I know :D
