I can't believe you're still debating what to buy...Post up your next installment in a month when you've bought one.

I'm not debating what to buy, I was debating when to buy. I decided a long time ago that I want a white crew cab GMC Z71 4x4. That's what I bought. My question was about weather or not I would really spend $3-5k more on a 2011 in December.

The sticker on the truck was $38,800 and I got it for $29,900.

...Go check out Ford.

Don't like Ford F150's and F250 is a bit much for what I need and I have heard scary stories about the 6.0

Talk to your salesman about getting out of your lease early rather than having both payments...

I tried that about 2 or 3 weeks ago and ended up walking out of the place and mouthing off at the guy. The only way to do that with BMW is to completely pay off all the remaining payments. Trust me, when I found out I was going to Norway for a year three months after I got the stupid BMW, I tried like hell to give it back to them.

Whatever, now I have a great truck that I will OWN and I won't be in the market again for a good long time. My biggest mistake was leasing and getting a car to begin with. I am not a car person, I have really tried to go back and figure out what the fuck I was thinking getting a stupid little car and I can't figure it out. As a car it's great, but it's a car...oh, and dealing with the BMW people is like listening to someone scrape a chalk board. I fucking despise BMW now.

That's not at all representative of the market. Maybe if the truck had a salvage title.

I just sold an 05 PSD XLT F250 4x4 with 100k miles for significantly more than $13k.

been to texas lately?

No salvage title either...

$38K for a pickup truck? Hell, even the $30K you paid is ridiculous. It's a pickup truck for Christ's sake.

I also hear what you're saying about BMW being difficult to work with, but can you really blame them? You signed the contract...why would they take it back? It's a business not a friendship.

All trucks are high $$ now. My current F350 stickered at $51K (didn't pay any where near that). I had a new F350 loaner for a day a couple weeks ago that stickered at $62K (!)

It's all crazy.............

Well first off I am disappointed for letting myself get into a lease. Second, driving that car around the terrible streets of Houston is very unpleasant, especially when driving the Disco was what I was used to. Shit, I missed a turn the other day and rolled over the curb divider in the Disco and it was no problem. A bridge separation in the BMW makes me feel like hitting my teeth on the concrete. So that adds some resentment.

But, when you buy/lease a car with a $43,000 sticker price and they don't give you floor mats, or even offer road hazard warranty on your $300 tires (that don't have a spare). These were the first things that pissed me off. I was excited about the new car and overlooked the floormats, called back and said "You forgot my floor mats." -- "You have to pay extra for those." Petty little bullshit, I know, but it's those little things. If I had my head on straight I wouldn't have signed over something that insignificant to the dealer.

The service has been absolutely great and I haven't paid a dime for anything. I must say that's been a nice experience. But I think the BMW Finance representatives on the phone go through special training on how to be very snide.

the markup on a BMW was only like 2k a few years ago I think the 7 was only maybe 4k markup. (few years ago, but i doubt it has changed much)

BMWs are indeed very fine automobiles... ...as long as the roads where you live don't suck burro nuts. For smooth roads, it's one of the best things ever to drive. For crappy roads, I have to say, Rangies are awesome.

...wait, why do you need a pickup again? Why not just rock a rover?

If you're spending ~$30k on a pickup... why not a 110 or 130 hicap?

LaVonne...my boat.

AC, 300hp and 100k mile warranty.

I don't have time or patience to wrench on my daily driver all the time...I already rock a Rover...one that needs rebuilt steering and brakes, is about to lose a CV, has no power (especially when I hook it to LaVonne), I have to drive an hour out of town to get it inspected by someone that doesn't give a shit....
