Hi All. First time poster, long time lurker. First off, I want to thank you all for the enormous wealth of knowledge that is the discoweb.org board. It has helped me troubleshoot, if not fix many of the minor problems in my wife’s 00’ Series II myself and for that I am extremely grateful.
I am currently considering buying a 99 RR4.0 SE with 80K miles on it for about $6,000. The truck is immaculate, runs well, and appears to be well maintained judging by the dealer records, but it is displaying the “ABS FAULT – DO NOT EXCEED 35 Mph” message on the fancy BMW esque dash display in addition to the TC idiot light. The truck is being driven down to my local Land Rover mechanic tomorrow for his opinion while I’m at work, and he has told me that it could be a relatively minor sensor problem, or could be a more serious problem with either the suspension, or the ABS pump. I wanted to see if any of you fine folks could suggest anything I should keep an eye out for, or suggest I have my mechanic take a look at prior to buying what appears to be an awesome truck. I’m 25 years old, and don’t make a ton of money, so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ash
