I just broke the intermediate band on my c4 trans that's in my 65 Ranchero. I was searching parts and came across a slip-in band that doesn't require removal of the transmission. I went ahead and bought it and figured I would see how it works out, before I start dropping the trans.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with these or know anyone that's had good luck with them?

Here's the link to the slip-in band:

It would be my first time fully dropping it, so maybe longer due to learning curve. I'm just looking to get it back on the road for now. Its a blast to drive.

Is it pretty straight forward to pull it apart to get the band out and new one installed, once its out?

I got the valve body already out, and didnt see how the band would come out if it wasnt already broken. the ends prevent it from slipping around.

I'll take another look at it though, and see if I missed something.

I've got a shift kit ready to go, that's the plan today.
