The big reason my wife never comes off road with us is because of the Dust. Yesterday, I kept the windows shut and air on re-circulation and we still woke up to heavy congestion and block nasal

I found an Austrailian site that said you dont want to use recirculation because it does not pressurize the cabin. My door seal are pretty worn and I have a better set I can put on but wanted to get everyone's input on they manage dusty trails

I would agree with not using recirc. The blower intake is usually getting reasonably clean air, but of course not always. The foam "filter" above our blower intakes are usually in pretty poor shape by this time in out rigs lives. It probably wouldn't be that difficult to obtain and replace, but I'm not sure they do a great job of filtering anyway.

Maybe it's because I grew up in Africa, but dust doesn't bother me and I have learned to drive far enough behind other vehicles that the only dust I encounter is what I create (or from oncoming traffic). Having an aversion to dust makes it difficult to enjoy off-pavement travel. It's tough to avoid - if it doesn't find you in the car, it will find you when you step outside.

Look at the "Vent" in the rear area behind the jump-seats/storage bins on the right side. It has 3 or 4 rubber flaps that are supposed to seal out the dust but let the air out when you shut the doors. Mine were very loose and let in a ton of dust. I re glued mine and so far so good.

Heres a post from AUS about it...

Okay, thank you all for the help

I am going to put better seals in the door and maybe even get some D2 seals for my D1

Ill Glue or tape down that vent, stop using recirc and order some filters.

It will be a couple weeks before I know if any of this helps
