I'll just toss this out there, and y'all can decide since it does not matter to me.
They're calling for a cold front to move in Saturday. Looks like a little rain is in front of it. Would you kids want to still camp at Meadow Knob, or would you want to move to a lower elevation? At a lower elevation it may be a few degrees warmer and we would be shielded from any wind.
For a nice lower elevation camping area, I was thinking about the Switzer area. There is a nice "field" just past the concrete bridge on the right. If that one is taken, there is another nice camping area a little farther down (about 100 yards) on the left. This one is in the woods and there is a no field.
Discuss.

My HAM needs a new battery. It's done. Can't even turn the radio on under battery power. Times are tough and the stock market is low....can't afford a new battery.

Either place is fine with me....and I don't think Ivan cares. We are packing very light b/c of just staying one night so we will be pretty mobile.
I've got some chili mix and ground beef--should I bring that and maybe a dutch oven (thinking about buying a basic Lodge version for camping)?

I'm not sure what I'm cooking, yet. Probably a dutch oven apple cobbler for sure, but I'm not sure yet what's for dinner. Since the swine flu is going around, I was thinking about cooking something pork related. Bacon Explosion sounds good.
doesn't matter to us, we're up for whatever. just need to have a little un-taxed north garden fire water to keep me warm
as long as the heathens of albemarle stay chill tonight and i can grab a few z's slumped over my radio stack tonight we are going to roll up there first thing when we get off work. dan, we can call you let you know what its lookin' like when we get up there if you'd like.
both trevor and i will have our little grills. gonna probably do a bunch of bbq chicken . we'll just be there fri. and sat. I'll have to head out to work sat night unfortunately

Ran into a couple guys from down south I think in Bath County who heard about the camp out - they're exploring bath but said they'd be at GWNF Sat. It's a built up silver D1 with a nice trailer. I won't be there till Friday night or sat morning. I'm fishing the Jackson!
