We made it home after a great tow truck ride!

Once we got it on the lift in the garage, the lower caliper bolt was gone. Must have been loose and lost it when we put her on the tow truck or going down the road. I had actually made a joke that the rocky run would loosen parts and make them fall off!
After looking at the manual, there are no lock washers on mine so maybe that explains the problem! We had an extra new bolt at home (from the last time this happened locally)--am updating my parts list to carry extras from now on!!

$144.00 tow for a $1.50 part! :banghead: :banghead:

Other than our delayed homecoming and the pouring rain....it was great to see everyone!

Looking forward to going up there again, um, when the weather is clearer.

Glad you found the problem. That passenger side front wheel bearing is loose though!

Very wet this morning on my part of the mountain! Looks like I'll be setting the tent up in the yard this week.
I'll be setting up 2, missed seeing you up there Walter. Good to see the rest of you again.

Sorry to be anti-social, I just needed to decompress after all the traveling I've been doing. Had a nice set up and once I got the fire going I wasn't going anywhere.
I only landed 3 fish, I think they're picking on me, there was a light mayfly hatch but I think they were hitting the midges rising. They just weren't hitting that great. But then again I wasn't into it a lot, I was just kickin' back.

Suz,
The caliper bolts do not get a lock washer. They get lock-tight.

My upper tailgate popped open again on the trip back out (and I was driving a lot slower because of the fog).

Well, we've locktite'd the hell out of them every time they've been off. Looking at the rave pictures, they show a 7/16 lock washer .... so we're thinking that might help?

Considering I drive over 2 cattle guards, railroad tracks (x2) and all of Staunton's potholes on a daily basis....it must have been working itself loose for a while and we just didn't check before heading to the mountain. If I had actually packed the 'parts' box we would have had the extra one and some tools!
